The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are world goals for sustainable development. They aim to end extreme poverty, inequality, injustice and climate change. Making social impact is important to us at Swink. How we as a company connect to the SDGs, we share with you here.
What are the SDGs?
In 2015, the United Nations formulated 17 Sustainable Development Goals to make the world a better place by 2030. These goals are called the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Swink is particularly focused on Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth. This goal seeks inclusive, economic growth, employment and decent work for all.
Inclusive employment
Part of SDG 8 is to achieve full and productive employment and decent work for all women and men, including young people and persons with disabilities, as well as equal pay for work of equal value by 2030. At Swink, we do this by employing people with autism. Despite being motivated and having special talents, relatively few people with autism manage to get jobs. As a result, they end up on benefits, which is frustrating for themselves and costs society money.
Developing talents
At Swink, we believe it is important to utilize the talents of people with autism. After all, with relatively minor adjustments, they can do excellent work. In fact, people with autism do various tasks even better. Our satisfied clients are proof of this. Moreover, it appears that people who come to work for Swink become more self-confident and develop strongly. That provides an enormous boost. Our colleague Vincent doesn't say for nothing that he has found a second version of himself since working at Swink.
What it means for you
