- Is a puzzler: ‘I love making jigsaw puzzles. I especially like 3D puzzles. The biggest puzzle I have done was 9000 pieces big of the constellations. Now I think astrology is nonsense, but the picture was very pretty.'
- Excels in mathematics: ‘That's why I studied mathematics at Leiden University. In secondary school, I took part in Kangoeroe, a maths competition for primary and secondary schools. I came first in the Netherlands in my category twice.'
- Plays classical guitar: ‘I took lessons in that for several years and am not a particularly great talent, but can do it a bit. I like classical guitar because, unlike an electric guitar, the sound comes directly from the string.'
